Overview
Cognitive assessment is not simply the administration of tests or the interpretation of isolated scores. It is a process of clinical reasoning that requires the integration of cognitive performance, emotional state, medical history, functional information and the person’s wider life context.
This project will bring together educational examples, visual models and reflections about how neuropsychological findings can be interpreted and communicated clearly.
Motivation
During my professional experience as a psychologist and neuropsychologist, I have seen how easily cognitive assessment can be reduced to numbers, classifications or diagnostic labels. However, the same score can have very different meanings depending on a person’s age, education, history, emotional state, daily functioning and neurological context.
My aim is to make the interpretive process more visible and to explore ways of communicating complex findings without losing precision, clinical meaning or respect for the person being assessed.
